The Kata Rocks Poker Run is an exclusive boat rally inspired by the famous American poker run, combining nautical adventure, friendly competition and serious fun on the water.
Participants circumnavigate Phuket, completing a challenge at each of five designated checkpoints to collect a playing card, plus a final card upon returning to Kata Rocks. The best five-card poker hand from the six cards collected wins.
While KRPR is not a race, the fastest single-engine and twin-engine boats also earn those all-important bragging rights.
The Kata Rocks Poker Run welcomes participants of all ages, with children required to be accompanied by a responsible adult. The same participation rates apply regardless of age.
Participants can enter with their own boat, join a shared charter or arrange a private charter through the Kata Rocks team. Shared charter places are available for individuals and groups, subject to availability and minimum booking numbers.

To secure the Early Bird rate, a minimum of two participants per boat must register and pay by 30 November 2026.
Once secured, additional participants can be added to the same boat at the Early Bird rate until 12:00 on event day.

Shared charter packages also include the boat, captain and crew, fuel for the route and an onboard drinks package featuring alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Complete the online registration form on the Enter page. You will then be directed to the payment page to complete your booking. Registration is confirmed once payment has been received.
Online registration closes at 17:00 the day before the event. Last-minute registration for participants entering their own boats is available at Kata Rocks from 10:30 to 12:00 on event day.
Shared charter places must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, swimwear and suitable clothing for a day on the water are all recommended.
Boat owners are responsible for ensuring their vessels carry appropriate safety equipment, including a working marine VHF radio for start coordination and safety communications with event officials.
For safety reasons, the KRPR organising team reserves the right to amend the route or delay the start if weather conditions are unsuitable. Should the event need to be cancelled due to adverse weather, it will be rescheduled.
If a boat experiences mechanical difficulties or needs to withdraw from the event, the skipper must notify event officials via VHF radio or the contact number provided in the event instructions and route guide, issued during event-day check-in.
For emergencies, participants should contact the Phuket marine safety hotline listed in the same guide.
Overnight mooring at Kata Rocks is available on request and subject to limited availability.
Guests requiring overnight mooring are strongly encouraged to contact the Kata Rocks team as early as possible, as advance notice greatly increases our ability to accommodate requests.

Yes. Friends, family and other guests are welcome to join the post-run BBQ, trophy presentation and prize giving at Kata Rocks.
The celebration takes place from 18:00 to 22:00, with admission including the BBQ buffet and drinks package.
