The 2nd edition of KRPR took place on Sunday, 12 December 2021, bringing a spirited fleet of boats together for another action-packed circumnavigation of Phuket.
Participants picked up playing cards at Xana Beach Club, The PlayYard, Koh Rang Noi, and Banana Beach, before returning to Kata Rocks for the final draw. Crews were welcomed with t-shirts, gourmet BBQ, and celebratory drinks, as prizes were awarded and stories exchanged poolside.
The boat with the best poker hand earned a spot on the Kata Rocks Poker Run Trophy and a two-night complimentary villa stay – the ultimate reward for a day well played.

Whilst the KRPR is not a race, the ‘bragging rights’ for 1st boat back to Kata Rocks by a margin of nearly 10 minutes this year goes to Matthew Sheldrake – Drake Marine CEO and Ted Hullbush in the Drake Marine Racing Team cigarette boat.
The Prize Winners for this year were:
3rd Place – Martin Holmes – GM at Lee Marine in “Atari VI” who gets to spend a day out on the water with The Junk Liveaboards
2nd Place – Donald Foltz in “Trophy” who gets to spend a night at The Playyard’s unique resort (and 2nd Card Pickup location)
1st Place – Dan Fidock – Owner RGF Group Co., Ltd. in “Concubine” who will have his name added to the Kata Rocks Poker Run Perpetual Trophy as well as getting a 2 nights stay at the KRPR 2021 host venue, Kata Rocks.
